SAFETY FIRST!
Grown-ups should always be involved in any activities involving heat, sharp knives and appliances.
Make breakfast in bed for your grown-ups and win the day! Baked French toast is a fun recipe for cooks of all ages, and can be made ahead the night before.
Little Sous Tips:
—Safety first! Adult supervision is recommended for steps using the oven, and for cutting the bread into cubes. If your child is too young to use a knife, the bread can be torn by hand into large pieces.
—Experiment! A plain French Toast casserole is like a blank canvas. Would you like to add fruit to your casserole? Bananas, berries, peaches, cherries or apricots will work great.
—Have fun! Coming together around meals is a time for sharing, listening and trying new things.
Substitutions:
Substitute almond milk or soy milk for the whole milk and cream. You can also use gluten free bread.
